DIY Macramé Feather

Hey guys, I made a macramé feather and here’s what I did. I’m using this 3mm cord. I cut a 16” cord for the center. But you could just adjust it to whatever length you want. I folded it in half, and taped 2” from the top for my loop. You don’t have to make a loop for your feather, if it’s part of a wall hanging or dreamcatcher, just tape the hanging cord down to start the feather. For the sides, I cut 28 cords at 6”. Again, just adjust it to how big or wide you want it to be. The strands were tied together with square knots that alternate from the left side to the right side. For the left square knot, I folded 2 of my 6” cords in half. I inserted the folded end of my left cord through the folded end of my right cord and held it in place, which should create a loop. I placed the ends of the longer cord between the 2 smaller cords. Then, I pulled the ends of the smaller cord through the loop. For the right square knot, I folded 2 of the 6” cords in half. I inserted the folded end of my right cord through the folded end of my left cord and held it in place I placed the ends of the longer cord between the 2 smaller cords. Then, I pulled the ends of the smaller cord through the loop. Then, I combed it, a few strands at a time. I started from the ends and worked my way up. Then, I trimmed it to the shape I wanted and here’s how it turned out.
