April 4, 2019 Reply Little Creeps Saw that Emily's links were called out below, but they don't seem too be there any more. Other than that, Great video and it was cool to see another viewpoint on presenting new identity/brand work. April 5, 2019 Reply Veronica Nathania Lmao love that Austin Powers reference 🤣 April 5, 2019 Reply David Miller I dare you to try this. Then make a new video that addresses this approach. In this video you are advising 1 common and crucial mistake. Do NOT present 3 versions unless you want to create a frankenstein, sub par version of the identity. You have been hired as the expert in id design. You are basically saying to your client ‘I am stuck and don’t know how to complete this work, please help me’ Present the most suitable version. Why leave it to the marketing guy’s wife to decide. Which is what happens when you present options. The client hired you to make these decisions. They have enough decisions to make doing their usual job. Don’t ask them to make your decisions for you. You will be surprised at the effect of owning the expert opinion. It results in higher perceived value of your work and hence more work at higher pricing. Be the expert. April 7, 2019 Reply Gnome Sane I'm a one man shop, talented designer who hates selling and all the technical jargon associated with selling and design. This host, his style, delivery and knowledge simplifies the process and makes it not only bearable but he transforms it into a sort of enjoyable challenge. April 9, 2019 Reply Melissa King Brilliant.. April 15, 2019 Reply Shauday Smith This is sooo important for me to hear now. Thanks so much for this! April 15, 2019 Reply sakina salem Hi futur. Thanks for a great video and all the other advice as well. Can you post more of these videos where we learn about design on the client side. How to present different types of projects ie branding, packaging, animation, advertising/editorials? What is expected of a high end designer? How and What files are delivered to the clients at the end? What should the timelines be? Whst is an acceptable amount of time to draft a logo for example? Thanks Sakina April 16, 2019 Reply Anand V Balagopalan Perfect April 18, 2019 Reply ahmed atta that really really helped thank you very much <3 April 19, 2019 Reply drawitoutlady “How much would it take for you to design that?” —> My experience with clients is that they see it on the mock-up and think that’s the design. In other words, it shouldn’t cost them for me to design that. How do I justify charging extra for their logo in a larger format? April 23, 2019 Reply smileyhappyradio This was so great, and helpful! One thing not covered was salesmanship. Many designers are just awkward in conversation, unlike yourself. They communicate better through email, and text than in person. They would just blow it in a presentation your talking about. How to help them? April 24, 2019 Reply Claire Jevron This is excellent, thank you so much for creating this video. I m upping my presentation game amongst other things. April 24, 2019 Reply TelFiRE 11:40 I am a little confused at this point, do you charge more to provide the files for the mockup designs which are essentially already designed and don't take anything but submitting the logo to a clothing making company? Or am I missing something April 26, 2019 Reply Amber Touch This is really helpful, top notch content. April 28, 2019 Reply Eshwaran Veerabahu What's the font you guys have used on your logo ??? April 28, 2019 Reply Amr Salah Wow ! April 29, 2019 Reply Rony Hananto If these all need to do in final presentation, what do we need to present in every revision? April 30, 2019 Reply Jagoda G. May 2, 2019 Reply Karin Adu Great Video May 3, 2019 Reply Fabitalism Hey Ben, are you presenting every logo on the same mockups or are you changing them from logo to logo? May 7, 2019 Reply Fadi Skam what font is this?? May 11, 2019 Reply Dani B Excellent advice! May 14, 2019 Reply vleshi1 Great presentation! May 17, 2019 Reply Andre Bourgeois This video is not to be ignored. I do some graphic design but I am an industrial designer in university right now and this was wildly helpful. May 17, 2019 Reply Wallace OK… First, I love the video and especially Ben's style. But, a couple of things. Watch Bill Burr's comments on Apple AKA Steve Jobs. It's right on. Nerd Jesus hahaha. Next Apple computers represent give or take 10% of computers worldwide. I feel Ben's comments on Keynote not being a Windows app were disrespectful. Apple is an OS just like Windows Linux Google and others. That's all it is. It's not Nirvana. Hello? Adobe has more Windows users than Apple. Most Adobe tutorials on YouTube rightfully recognize this. Ben talks about Photoshop. Again. Hello? Who cares if you are running Photoshop on a Mac or a Windows device??? Or download Storyblocks content on whatever device/OS of your choice. Keep up the good work Ben. Don't betray your non-hip heritage. It's what makes your videos appealing (as other commentators have noted). May 22, 2019 Reply Flix Louder 11:57 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👌 May 25, 2019 Reply Bas van den Eijkhof Great Work Ben! Please reply! July 24, 2019 Reply Naysworld This is such a great video, informative, clear, cool. July 25, 2019 Reply Nikki Doe I'm late BUT, Sooooo glad I stumbled upon this video!! AWESOME VISUAL for newbies! 💕❤️🎉💯 July 29, 2019 Reply david di pasquale Or you just purchase the HUGE MOCKUP BUNDLE from the futur 🙂 August 2, 2019 Reply ldratio I really disagree with clients wanting a new brand identity that will “sell more.” How crazy a proposition is that. The tech giants and innovative companies of the world don’t have anything revolutionary in terms of design. Any half decent designer can make the Apple logo in 2 minutes. It’s the value they create for the brand that sells and the visibility they create for the identity that makes it memorable. August 3, 2019 Reply North Los Angeles BBA This video is straight fire! but I cant get over the fact that I'm tired of only seeing white dudes and white girls and the occasional asian. Like wtf. Why is it only white dudes are allowed in front of the camera? August 4, 2019 Reply Nikoloz Gachechiladze Awesome content, a sidenote, I think Canva is much better than either Keynote or PowerPoint and it's really underused 🙂 August 9, 2019 Reply André Graça where are the files from the mockup? Wanted to check if you have made any video on presenting work for website or app. September 4, 2019 Reply Mohit Randeria Video is really helpful, but I have a question. What If client can't meet us as a person cuz it's too far ? The only option I know is just send files on e-mail. Idk how to show logo while talking over a video call. Is there any software that allows us to do this ? Most of my all clients are on whatsapp and they just ask for and e-mail. And for videocall they only prefer WhatsApp video call. Idk how I'm gonna show design over a WhatsApp call. Help ? Please !!? September 4, 2019 Reply Sarah Lang This is fantastic. Thank you. Where is the link to download Emilys files?
